How To Plan A Mining Exploration

Mining exploration is an important step in finding new mineral resources. There are a number of considerations that must be taken when planning an exploration project, including the location of the mine, the type and quality of ore deposits, environmental risks, and financial feasibility.

The most important factor in mining exploration is finding a profitable vein or deposit. Traditionally, this has been based on surface geology and survey data alone, but more sophisticated methods are now being used to analyze subsurface data sets. In some cases, such as with underground gas and oil deposits, detailed 3-D mapping is required to find viable targets.

Once a target is identified, evaluation of the ore prospects requires comprehensive analysis of geology and mineralogy. This includes mapping out the ore body and determining its size as well as its location within the surrounding rock formations.
