Brain Breaks For Adults At Work

Many adults experience brain breaks in their workday, but some employers don’t believe in them. The American Psychological Association (APA) released a report in 2017 stating that “regular breaks, even if they are short and occasional, can help ensure that workers have the opportunity to recover from mental fatigue and stay alert and focused.”

The report also noted that when employees take regular breaks, they are more productive and less likely to make mistakes. Some companies may feel that breaking their employees’ focus results in lost productivity, but this is not always the case. In fact, taking a short break can actually help an employee revitalize and come back with fresh ideas.

Brain breaks for adults at work have been shown to improve productivity and focus. In fact, a study published in the journal Ergonomics found that taking regular brain breaks can help people avoid burnout, increase creativity, and improve decision-making skills. Brain breaks can be as simple as taking a quick walk around the office or sitting down for a few minutes to work on personal projects.
